Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gender Specialist to support our organization in integrating gender considerations into our projects. The role will involve conducting gender analysis, developing strategies to promote gender equality, and ensuring that project outcome benefits all genders equitably. This is a part-time, remote position with a contract duration of 2-6 months.

  • Conduct comprehensive gender assessments across projects and programs to identify gender gaps, opportunities and risks.

  • Β Develop and implement gender mainstreaming strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and international best practices.

  • Train and provide technical assistance to staff and stakeholders on gender issues, ensuring an understanding of gender-sensitive approaches in project implementation.

  • Develop gender-sensitive indicators and monitoring frameworks to track progress on gender equality objectives in ongoing and future projects.

  • Review organizational policies and project plans to ensure gender equity considerations are incorporated at all levels.

  • Prepare reports and documentation that reflect gender analysis findings, strategies, and recommendations for stakeholders and management.

  • Collaborate with external partners, donors, and beneficiaries to ensure gender issues are adequately addressed in project planning and execution.

  • Promote the importance of gender equity in internal and external communications, fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity within the organization.

Qualifications

  • experience in gender analysis, policy development, or gender mainstreaming in programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in gender studies, sociology, social sciences, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

  • +6 years of relevant experience

  • Proven experience working on gender issues in various sectors.

  • Strong understanding of gender equality principles and best practices, including international frameworks.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex gender concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • +3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) with a gender perspective is preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with remote teams.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, balancing multiple priorities in a remote environment.

  • Experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment.

  • Familiarity with gender-focused tools and methodologies for impact assessments and evaluations.
